Dispelling Myths of Homemaking

A few years ago I came across an article bemoaning the job of homemaking. I don’t recall the source because I certainly didn’t bookmark it {big smile}. The author would have convinced me to negate homemaking as a career if I wasn’t already a homemaker and hadn’t experienced the truth and fineness of homemaking first hand. I believe these myths are worth airing out in the open once again...

You can read the rest of my article on homemaking myths here, at Raising Homemakers.

Hannah, I can so relate to driving a baby in the backseat with no room!!! We have two boys, ages 5 and 3. We just bought a new car today (well, new to us) but up until now we've been squeezing them in the back of a 2-door Honda Civic. I'm not sure if you are familiar with this car or not, but it is very small!! So, today, for the first time, we have 4 doors, how exciting!!!
Anyway, I can really relate to your article. We live comfortable, but non-materialistic. I have been a sahm ever since my first son was born. It's definitely been the best thing for our family. Thanks for taking the time to write such an inspiring article!!

Thanks for the post on Raising Homemakers. I am pregnant and will be resigning my very full time ministry position in November when i give birth. Having to answer questions and try to defend myself makes me weary... so does the occasional anxiety about our future (financially speaking)... so thanks for the reminder that it is indeed a good thing.
