WOW!!! We have had such a cold year our U-Picks aren't really ready yet. I am excited to go get enough to make jam to last until next summer. I'm think more like 20 for us! Ha ha!
Oh that's amazing! I'm growing a few strawberries for the first time this year and we ate 2 last week. TWO. WHOLE. STRAWBERRIES!!! What are you going to do with them all? How do you freeze them.... I have so much to learn!
Beautiful strawberries and children! I love the "good" strawberry years when I just can't quit picking! This year my strawberries and those at 2 U-pick farms weren't very good and the picking was tough. I got some but ended up buying lovely ones at the grocery store and freezing them. Do you make freezer jam? It is wonderful.
What are you going to do with all those strawberries? Are your baby's ears pierced? Maybe she'll grow up and not want her ears pierced and be mad at you that you did something like that to her without her permission.
Homeschool on the Croft, we planted about 25 strawberry plants here... apparently to feed the local wildlife as I haven't partaken of one yet/ They are all neatly nibbled off the bush.
Did you go picking, Gail? Hope some strawberry sweetness came your way!
Thanks, Mrs. Rabe. A bit insane, no?
Sue in NJ so glad you went picking! Hiope it was easy picking like ours was!
Thanks, Alicia!
Jedidja - that sounds delicious!
Laura, my neighbor makes freezer jam and it is yummy! We make jam and can it in pint jars.
Anonymous, we made a lot of jam to stock the pantry and dehydrated some of the strawberries and froze the rest to use in smoothies. as for Addie's ears, they are pierced and if she doesn't like it when she's older she can take them out and they will close up. And if that's the worst mistake I'll have made as a parent, I'll be doing good. :) We think they are pretty.

Oh my goodness your strawberries look awesome and your children look so adorable picking them!
Nice pics! We eat them on our bread with lots of sugar on it.
The Dutch name of strawberries is aardbeien. Or zomerkoninkjes.
