She sleeps

I think God knew I needed a good sleeper this round. I mean, reeeaally knew. And she is. She pulled 11-4 stretches at three weeks. At three months, she snoozles till 6, wakes, nurses and cuddles back up for some more shut eye.
My boys couldn't do this at a year.
I can't get enough of watching her sleep, the facial expressions, the lopsided dreamy smiles...

Her Papa made her a beautiful hammock, which sways and gently bounces.

Someone found her awake and sat down for a visit while I hung laundry on the rack by the woodstove.
I heard a little song begin.

"You're so sweet, I'm so sweet too. God loves me, God loves you. Sweet, sweet Addie, sweet, sweet, Addie...."

in the highest, sweetest voice one can imagine.
Blessed this morning by my two littlest girls.

OH my goodness! Too, too sweet. You make me "homesick" for my girls to be little again. DD#1 just had her 23rd b-day & DD#2 will be 20 (gulp!) in March. Where did the time go?

Take full advantage of these days. They are are gone in a flash.

Blessings from Ohio...Kim<><

Love the hammock... did he have instructions, or design it on his own? I bet you could market them ;-)

Your girls are beautiful. What precious children God blessed you with!

How sweet! And I'm so happy for you that you have such a good sleeper...but I'm trying not to be a little jealous, too. Out of five children I haven't had any really good sleepers! My second one had colic the first 3 months and after that she was a great sleeper, but other than that, ours don't sleep much. Then again, my husband and I don't sleep much either. Maybe it's just something about us! :)

Babies are a blessing and yes, God knows we need a break sometimes.
Your husband made a cute hammock.

What cuties!

I'd never heard of a baby hammock before, but agree with everyone else that it looks like a great idea. It must make babies feel a bit more swaddled/secure as they sleep.

Oh- this is precious!

We are in the process of adopting so baby anticipation is here! I wanted a hammock, but wasn't sure if there was some trick to making it 'safe'. I've seen the ones online but I'm not interested in paying that much for something I know my husband could build. Any pointers on this???

I know you are SOOOOOO busy. So please, if you don't have the time to email, that is ok!

Kim, these days are already flying by too quickly.
Thank you, Mrs. Stam
Beth, I showed him the Happy Hang-Up which is made in Australia and asked him to make me something like it. He's pretty handy and Addie loves it.
Thank you, everyone for the sweet sentiments.
Joy, none of our boys slept well and all of our girls have slept fantastic even though I have fed/loved/slept them the same. Who knows.
The hammock is very strong. Sean made it with a spring and hook into the ceiling that hold his weight. It sways and rocks with Adalia's movements and since she loves, loves, loves to be held, it has been nice to have around to give her that sense of snugness and movement that she likes so much.
Mandi, just have your husband look at the ones online and see if he can copy how they are built. I am researching if our particular way of making them is patented. I'd love to make and sell them.

Gorgeous! Both your girls and the hammock. I love it. I have only been blessed with 2 boys so far, but neither one has slept well. Maybe our next baby will! So true that God knows what we need and provides accordingly.
