How Do We

A portion of e-mails that I receive ask how we do different things as a family or how I do things in our home. I usually try to answer as best as I can. Having a larger than normal family doesn't mean I'm any better at running a home, but it often might mean that I'm forced to find a solution that works or else have the issue compounded times the number of people in our home.

I have a few questions and answers which I think are universally helpful that I'll share and if you have one, just send me a note to the "contact me" at the top of the page.

I'm so excited about this! I can't wait to see the questions and answers! Thanks for taking the time to do this - I'm sure it will help a lot of Mamas out there, including me. :)

I love that little framed silhouette in the photograph. Did you make it, or find it somewhere?

Yes, love that which you made me, Di. :)
You're welcome, Alison.
Sarah, my friend Diane made me the framed art. She's the first Diane above who left a comment and you can click through to her blog by clicking on her name. :)

Hannah, for some reason my computer will not let me open the "contact me" tab so I'm posting here if that's alright. I'm wondering how you do cleaning. Do you have a schedule? I have two young children and a smallish house and I feel like I'm constantly cleaning. Also, what do you use for cleaning products. I'm curious because you are such a natural-type person, as I am, and I'm always interested in natural living (on a tight budget especially!!). I use vinegar, baking soda and lemon a lot. I also have Norwex cleaning cloths and that's it, no chemicals.

I am looking forward to more posts like these. I have always wanted a large family (We are on our way- almost two years of marriage, two babies (Well, only one is born. I am about 5 months pregnant). It is great reading your methods.

I am so excited you are doing this question and answer time. I guess my question would be how do you and your husband make time for each other in the midst of your busy weeks, and with six children running around? Thanks!
