Some shared practical wisdom

A friend shared this list with me and I thought it was too good not to share here:

After the Birth, What a Family Needs

Some of my fondest memories after Addie's birth will be the friends who came and sat with me (bedrest for 3 days gets boring quick!) the yum, healthy food they brought and the friends who took the younger kids for a fun day of play while I rested.

If I lived closer to you, I would do every one of those! My neighbor though is expecting her first on Nov. 18. Thanks for the insight.

That is a great list! I have to disagree with the leave right away part though. In my experience I wanted people to spend more time talking to me and visiting. But my baby was in the NICU for the first 3 weeks, so I had a very different situation and certainly can't speak for most people.

Hannah, I have experienced many of these blessings, but that list was really practical. I will be referring to it in a few weeks when my sis has #4, and again next spring when our seventh arrives.
Congratulations on your new little bundle of preciousness:-)
