Tuesday, August 11

A pile of toppled books surround me in the living room tonight. Two days ago Sean came home from work and told me we are officially an open foster/adoptive home! No more signing, no more paperwork. (For a season, at least.)

I quickly placed my online book order and pulled books off shelves around the house, printed off my free daily planner pages and settled down in the big red living room chair and set to work on lesson plans for this school year.

This morning I also tore the majority of six layers of wallpaper off the girl's bedroom walls and made a few trips to the home store for supplies. Nesting, it seems, does not just come with pregnancy.

In other new tonight, we came home to find our dog had eaten a pound of chocolate chips, half a package of rice cakes, a half pound of butter and one dirty diaper. I'm trusting the indigestion will be a lesson to her. And, yes, I know chocolate is supposed to be fatal to canines but this is not her first offense. She'll be just fine. And, yes, I know eating a dirty diaper is completely and utterly disgusting. She also likes to roll in deer poo in the middle of the winter.

Enjoy your night,
Hannah

Glad to see you are back to blogging! I used to love getting the new books for the school year and sitting down to plan out the lessons. Where do you get your energy? There is so much to do here, but I just can't seem to get the energy up to get started - and my kids are grown!

BE blessed...

I also know from experience that chocolate isn't actually fatal to doge - ours would've died a long time ago!

Congratulations on being licensed! Isn't it exciting to know you could get "the call" at any moment? I wish you well on your new journey.

BTW, my dog has on several occasions eaten dirty diapers, and left the remaining contents strewn on the floor. Nasty dog. And she kisses us with that mouth. Bleck! She's also eaten half a pan of brownies and didn't bat an eye. Stomach of steel I suppose.

Okay, eww about the dog! Congratulations on the foster parenting notifications. I'm not pregnant either and I have been very busily redoing my house.

Glad to see you're blogging again...
And you're right - nesting has nothing to do with hormones and the physical!

HOORAY! I am so excited to see what God does now. I think I'll be nesting alongside you in anticipation. Living vicariously is the next best thing, right?
