Three heavy lidded pots sat waiting in the middle of our dining room table where we had all gathered for dinner. The children were excited. In hand they each held a serving spoon, having been told it was their turn to help serve this evening.
One by one they opened their assigned pots and covered dishes to serve their family and exclaimed in surprise and protest when they found each of the dishes EMPTY with no ingredients to serve up.
We encouraged them to work together, be creative, share the contents of their pots and make us a fabulous dinner to serve. Even a simple dinner would have been fine.
Their grins and smiles at the obvious, that something cannot come from nothing... Their questions... Their giggles at Papa concentrating so very hard and trying to speak a meal into existence... to no avail.
I slipped off to the kitchen while Papa explained how science points to an intelligent design of our universe and how the first verse in the Biblical book of Genesis confirms this. "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."
It was a fun meal. The kids are still talking about it this morning and wondering what they are in for this evening as we follow on to day two of creation.
My creative genius this week comes from here.
