We may not have the ocean...

...in upstate New York, but we have places like this.

Without crowds or people passing off illegitimate triangles of fabric as clothing...

Just cute boys showing Mama their muscles,

and cute girls swimming with their Papa.

Attempting brave acts of jumping in for the FIRST time ever, coaxed and encouraged on by older siblings

Laughing and swimming

or pretending to be an Indian princess

exploring

Days like this and scenery like this also come with the highest taxes in the nation...

so don't be too envious.

Off of a few dirt roads on a dirt road in Stratford, NY. I don't even know if that is on most maps! Its a teeny tiny town near where my husband grew up in the Adirondacks.
The taxes are horrible, aren't they? Sean gets hit pretty bad being a business owner. I LOVED the ads they ran on tv for a while saying how NY loves small businesses. I'd think to myself, "sure NY does - because the state takes so much money from them."

Wow that is beautiful! I am on the other side of the map from you, and we don't have the ocean too close to us, but we have wonderful places like that as well. SO much better than crowded pools or beaches.

That is breathtaking! How lovely!

We have white beaches here, but we also have those "illegitimate triangles of fabric as clothing" which can make it quite unpleasant.

However, your area looks so quiet and peaceful. Lovely, lovely, lovely.

Tiffany, the ocean actually happens to be one of my favorite things in the entire world so I am envious of anyone that lives close to it! I think God knew I'd never get any laundry done if he put me in a oceanic location and thats why I live where I do!
Brandy, I agree. I don't like crowded pools or beaches either... And off to swimming lessons we go this morning!
Pam, all the photos I have ever seen of your state are beautiful! I'd love to go out west some day!
Blessings,
Hannah
