He is risen, just as He said!

One of my sweet friends attended a Good Friday service and relayed this story to me.

"At the end of the service, the pastor and an elder quietly walked to the front, carrying a wooden cross. They each reached up and hammered a nail into the places where Jesus's hands would have been nailed. The congregation was silent and the offer was made for anyone to come forward and hammer a nail of their own in as well, as a sign that we are all responsible for Jesus being on the cross. The old sanctuary was quiet except for the repeated hammering echoing from front to back as people visually commemorated their participation in the death of Jesus Christ."

Definitely something to think about as we celebrate Resurrection Day tomorrow!
Our family won't be greeting the sunrise with a breakfast picnic as we planned. 13 degrees here for tomorrow morning! Can you believe it? Instead I'll push the dining room table by the windows so the sun streams in on us and gives the kids something special to remember for Easter breakfast.

I've been enjoying your blog since my sister sent me a link a couple of weeks ago. I have been inspired and blessed in so many ways as I slowly read through the archives - thank-you and Happy Easter!
