Monday, August 13

School has begun in our home, sweet kids lined up in a row on the library couch waiting for the next story of fighting Egyptian kings or running outside to measure their shadows and see how the sun works.
We began the morning with blueberry buttermilk pancakes and a cool summer walk before the fog had finished lifting off the hills and the ducks ran flashing their wings across our lawn for their ritual morning stretch, quacking all the while.

The pics are beautiful, the ones of "your daughter" from behind look like they were taken from some book or gallery somewhere. Great eye on the photography.

Your blog is so peaceful to me. Sometimes I wonder is your life as peaceful as it sounds on your blog.

It may also be the music too... I love it.

Thanks, Joseph, for the kind comment on the photos. I really enjoy toting the camera everywhere.

On Fire for Jesus - Did you receive your package of boy books yet? I had such fun deciding which ones to buy...

Brain beats and bits, yes this is a lovely place to raise kids. We are so thankful God led us here. The neigboring farmers are lovely and don't mind if you walk through their fields. One neighbor has 100 acres and has given us permission to enjoy it any time. We are very thankful!

Being Hannah's mom and being blessed to visit their home often - I can attest to the peacefulness they cultivate in their home! Even with the "mayhem" Hannah says exists with 4 young ones, it is always peaceful. God's presence is in that place!

Thank you for sharing how you help instill peace in your home. This is one of those things in which I still need to do a lot of work. I know that getting up early would help... oh but the bed is so cozy! I really just need to start going to bed before midnight and I'm sure it'll be much easier

Hi Mom, thanks. very sweet of you. ;)

new Mom,
I also am having a hard time switching over to going to bed earlier in order to get up earlier. I'd prefer to be up to 11 every night. It's hard, I know.

Hey, I love that mayem!!!! I can attest to how great it is going over. For me it's the kids. There is so much energy in that home and they are all so much fun. It only takes a couple of minutes before they draw me in and I am either giving them rides on my feet or back or being tickled or punched or tackled or invited to a mud pie tea party. I always leave with a smile on my face (and a couple of sore muscles). I don't normally look at this blog but Beck was looking at under my profile on the computer so now all the pics show up in my google desktop and i can't help but look. I love you guys and wish we could come out to visit more.
