This product is what I use in our home to clean just about everything. A capful diluted in a squirt bottle from the dollar store lasts a few weeks and cleans everything: countertops, toilets, floors, appliances...
I love it because it has a mild fresh scent and is all natural.

This is also a favorite that I'm all out of right now. It also is concentrated and cleans EVERYTHING!
In our home I've used this to take off marker and crayon from walls, scum from the bottom of our enamel sink, grease, water marks, and it hasn't dissapointed me on anything I've tried it on. Of course, I have no idea how it works - that's why it is magic, right?
In the laundry room, I like Sun and Earth laundry detergent. Our youngest daughter has very sensitive skin and this doesn't bother her at all. It smells wonderful, very citrus-y. http://www.sunandearth.com/productdetailspage.aspx?Pid=3When gathering cleaning products for your home, first know your ingredients. Most conventional products on the market are extremely dangerous and should not be in any home, especially a home with small children. Do some research online.
Next, assemble a bin with the essential products that you'll need to clean your home. My bin is fuschia pink and has a handle. It was purchased at the dollar store. The handle allows me to easily carry it from room to room.
You may want to consider adding to yours:
1. Spray bottle with a nozzle that has a "closed" position. I use mine to carry my diluted eco spray and the fact that it the nozzle can be in the closed positon thwarts my two year old who would love to spray anything and everything in sight. Mine has a fuschia nozzle and came from the dollar store.
2. A magic eraser, of course. Our two year old is also learning not to color on the walls.
3. A small broom and dustpan. Also purchased at the dollar store.
4. A sponge. Great for everything. Sanitize it after cleaning by putting it in the dishwasher or running it through the washer and dryer.
5. Dust rag. I am partial to the "swiffer'' style ones although I keep some pennies by buying the generic ones. (dollar store of course)
The jist of the matter is that I do spend money of cleaning products for our home just because they are so much more healthy and safer to have around. Everything else is bargain priced and still works great for me.
